Simone Hochgreb has interests in the area of combustion instabilities and emissions for gas turbines, furnaces and engines, by using advanced optical and other diagnostics.

Prior to Cambridge she worked on laser diagnostics applied to IC engines, chemical kinetics and air pollution at MIT and Sandia National Laboratories in the USA.

She holds a PhD from Princeton University in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (1991).
