About
My research focuses upon the uncanonical in relation to the female body and theories of love in Spanish Renaissance courtly love lyric. At its core is the poetry of the oft neglected warrior-poet Francisco de Aldana.
I graduated with distinction from the LLB Law and Spanish (Edinburgh, 2008), which included a year abroad at Deusto University, Bilbao. My MPhil (Cambridge, 2010) revolved around the reception and application of classical poetics and myth in poetry and drama in the Spanish Golden Age. My present doctoral research is kindly funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council.
