About

I'm a Reader in Human Evolutionary Biology and Director of the Duckworth Collection at the University of Cambridge. I'm also a Fellow of Clare College and a co-founder with Robert Foley of the Leverhulme Centre for Human Evolutionary Studies in Cambridge. My research interests are very broad, but my work has focused mainly on the evolution and diversity of modern humans, Homo sapiens. This research has involved a range of disciplines, including human palaeontology, evolutionary genetics, behavioural ecology, linguistics and archaeology. I currently have field projects in Libya (prehistory), India (anthropology & genetics) and Kenya (palaeoanthropology).
