Thesis Title: Novel Matrices for In-Process Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing

Prof. Nigel Slater

About

The Cambridge research group have developed and filed patent on a novel Micro-Capillary Film (MCF) and have shown that this matrix has exceptional potential for the in-process assay and purification of valuable biopharmaceutical products. Most recently, the group has demonstrated that a microporous MCF has significantly higher capacity and utility than their first-generation matrices. I will be adapting the manufacturing process for the microporous MCF to enable control over the porosity characteristics and will then study the performance of these improved matrices for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
