I've got an academic background in Political Science, a professional background in journalism and am currently doing research on the South African public broadcaster (particularly its institutional culture) using ethnography and oral history.
This is part of a wider interest in media transformation in emerging democracies. I'm looking forward to getting in touch with people working on similar issues, perhaps in different contexts/countries. I'm also interested in issues around journalism training in developing countries, particularly in Africa.
